Pteridological Section/AFS Lee , Chang Shook [1], Chung, Kyong-Sook [2], Lee, Kanghyup [3], Yeau, Sung Hee [1]. Natural hybridization between Asplenium ruprechtii and related taxa from Korea. Asian walking fern, Asplenium ruprechtii, has been known to bear the hybrid with A. incisum and A. castaneo-viride. Recently, we have found two unrecorded hybrids from Korea. A. x kitazawae Kurata & Hutoh is the natural hybrid between walking fern and A. sarelli, reported first from Japan, and the other one occurs also in Japan, A. x akaishiense Otsuka, the hybrid between walking fern and A. radicans. In addition, new hybrid, A. x uiryeong, nom. Nov., between A. ruprechtii and A. pekinensis occurs in Mt. Bukhan in Seoul, Korea. These hybrid taxa grow in sympatric regions with both putative parental species. The evolutionary relationships among these taxa, the diagnostic characters for each taxon, and the evidence to estimate the hybridization of them are unclear. To reexamine the taxonomic delimitations and relationships of these taxa and to estimate the hybridization of them, we present the results of phylogenetic analyses of morphological, cytological, and molecular data.
