Dillhoff, Richard [1], Stromberg, Caroline [2], Dillhoff, Thomas [3], Dunn, Regan [4].

The Miocene vegetation and environment of Western North America.

Colloquium will present current research into the flora, climate and physical environment of Western North America during the Miocene.  Speakers will be selected from a wide variety of disciplines utilizing macrofossils (e.g., compressions, permineralizations), microfossils (e.g., palynomorphs, phytoliths), geochemical, and geological evidence to summarize current knowledge of the regional warming and subsequent cooling during the Miocene, and the biotic response to these climatic changes.
