A new taxon of Hymenophyllum and two independent gametophytes from Korea.

Hymenophyllum wrightii for. nov. is described from forests in Mt. Halla from Korea. This forma, H.wrightii for. serratum is distinguished from the species H. wrightii by having smaller and broader in basal part of leaf blade, broad-ovate lamina, larger sporangia and serrate margins of lips of involucres. A new forma name means based on serrate margin shape of the lips. Korean name, ‘Gu-reum-cheo-nyeo-i-kki’, was given newly based on its habitat. Descriptions and illustrations of this taxon and its photograph in the habitat are provided along with a key to the species of Hymenophyllum from Korea. Independent gemmiferous gametophytes have been known from eastern U.S. and northeastern Canada and Europe. The colonies of two independent gametophytes (filamentous one and ribbone-like one) without sporophytes, occur from Gyeonggi-do, Gangwon-do from Korea. They look like moss at first sight and have gemmae, and distribute broadly on relatively deep dint place of large rock as like small cave in the high mountain, which is around valley. We make analysis to identify them based on morphology and molecular data.
